About Your Job:
To be part of the team engaged in maintenance and support of the middleware systems by undertaking the role of the Application server administrator, as and when required for the maintenance of the production systems and as per the project plan for the development projects. Activities may involve Middleware server administration, performance tuning, technical and deployment architecture design, development of system integration modules and support.
Maintain the availability of all Qatar airways production and non-production Application servers, Enterprise service Bus and Messaging middleware as per the defined SLA with the customer. Provide 24/7 on-call support for Tier-1 operational and business critical applications in a system administrator role. Maintain the Middleware software security and prevent unauthorised access to the applications administration in compliance with IT security policy.
Reduce manual operational jobs by ensuring automation of as many operational procedures for monitoring and supporting middleware software. Proactively initiate and plan the version upgrade & patch management of Middleware software. Provide technical support to the Information Systems team in major application deployment designs and planning efforts to arrive at high performance and cost effective solutions.
Develop excellent rapport with the application development teams to build a cordial working environment. Ensure proper documentation of the system software for ease of quality assurance, testing, operation and support. Investigate reported incidents in operational systems and ensure right patches are applied, tested and promoted to productive systems. Ensure that change management process and procedures are followed for any production system changes
About You:
To be successful in the role you must hold a Bachelor's degree in one either Computer Science or Engineering. Have a minimum of 5 years IT experience in a similar role. Experience in middleware system software administration especially JBoss, Webshpere.
Basic knowledge in various programming languages, data modelling, database design, and developing tools. Understanding of Open source technologies especially in the middleware area. Experience in different Operating system like Linux, Unix and Windows. Good understanding of client server, web development, and /or N-Tier architecture, databases.
